NURSERY
Our nursery, overseen by Bobette Steele with the assistance of Judy Pearson, offers care for children from newborn through ages 4-5. The nursery is equipped with new furniture and features a speaker system so caregivers can hear the music and sermons during services. Bobette and Judy provide loving care, creating a safe and nurturing environment for our youngest attendees.
CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
Children’s Church is held every Sunday at 10:00 AM and is open to kids of all ages. Our program is designed to reflect the structure and spirit of our adult services, but in a way that is engaging and accessible for children. We have a dedicated team of five adult teachers who rotate each week to provide dynamic, age-appropriate Bible teaching.
We are also proud to involve the next generation in ministry—one of our youth, a 14-year-old girl with a heart for missions, occasionally shares messages during the service as she grows in her calling.
YOUTH GROUP
Our youth group is led by Assistant Pastor Peter Dodd and his wife, Morgan Dodd, who are dedicated to guiding and mentoring our youth. The youth group is open to individuals from ages 13 through young adulthood.
Youth services are held on Wednesday nights during months with five Wednesdays. Our youth are actively involved in all aspects of church life — serving as greeters, ushers, praise singers, sound technicians, and multimedia operators. Additionally, they are trained to prepare messages and lead services, equipping them for leadership in ministry.
Several of our youth contribute musically, including four praise singers and a talented 10-year-old drummer named Daniel. Our youth group also participates in conferences and events, traveling in our 2023 15-passenger van.
The youth group serves on the church’s cleaning rotation under the leadership of their youth leaders. They clean the church every five weeks and are rewarded with a group lunch afterward.
WORSHIP MINISTRY
Worship is a vital part of our church family and sets the tone for every service. Led by Sister Annette Richardson, our worship experience typically lasts about 30 minutes and features a full praise team, creating an atmosphere where people can encounter God’s presence in a powerful way.
Following the main worship set, we include two special songs that further encourage and uplift the congregation.
On months with a fifth Sunday, we host Singspiration — a joyful evening of fellowship and worship, featuring special music from various members of our praise team. After the music, we enjoy spending time together as a church family with fellowship — and of course, pizza!
BUS MINISTRY
Our bus ministry, led by Jay Dodd, provides transportation for anyone needing a ride to church services. This service is available to ensure everyone has access to attend services and connect with our church family.
FOOD PANTRY
Our food pantry was established in June 2013 to serve individuals and families in need throughout the Illinois Valley area. Under the leadership of Assistant Pastor Peter Dodd, our pantry team travels to Peoria once a month — typically on the second Wednesday — to pick up food. Upon arrival at the church, volunteers ranging from ages 10 to 55 assist in unloading and stocking the freezer, refrigerators, and shelves. This process usually takes about two hours.
The food pantry is open to the public by appointment, which can be scheduled by calling the church at (815) 878-8884. While many visitors utilize the pantry after services on Sundays and Wednesdays, assistance is available as needed. In addition to food, we also offer household items to further support families in need.
Our food pantry has consistently been blessed with ample resources — we have never run out and believe no one should go hungry. All are welcome, and no one is turned away.
